2015 - 2017 (Candidate)
GPA: 4.0
I decided to pursue a graduate degree to enchance my hard skills in project evaluation and my working understanding of community program implementation. As a community health sciences speciality I will become intimately familiar with the socio-behavioral science of public health. Beyond this I am pusuing the building of technical skills through rigorous biostatistics and epidemiology coursework, and a working understanding of political and economic underpinnings of global development and healthcare. Outside of class I am the Advocacy Co-chair of the Reproductive Health Interest Group (RHIG), and am pursing outside research with faculty.
USC, Dornseif College of Letters, Arts & Sciences
B.A. Health & Humanities - Global Health, 2014
2010 - 2014
At USC I pursued varied academic coursework that prepared me for a career at the intersection of health, global development, and community social sciences. My classes included biological and physical sciences, international relations, non-state actors and NGO's, medical anthropology, and business. Due to my passion for the health sciences, I dedicated time outside of class to enhancing my community organizing by leading a medical trip as Dental Director to Guatemala, and teaching through the Joint Educational Department at schools in Los Angeles neighborhoods. These experiences taught me not only about program implmentaton but the importantance of feedback through evidence based evaluation and prioritizing sustainbility within local contexts.
